Class 1–4
Grundschule at Lernnest
Reading and arithmetic in groups of four or five, Monday to Thursday, plus an hour for the homework folder. Same room every week, same two faces at the table.

One address, one pick-up, one invoice. The seven-year-old reads at the front table while the fourteen-year-old does maths at the back one. You come at seven and collect them both.
Learning for the whole family.

Pick a class year and the whole site re-orders around that child — groups, times, prices, the answers to your questions. Two children? Set one, look, then set the other. Nothing is lost.
No year chosen — showing everything
Stored on your device only, so it is still set on the next page. Nothing is sent to us.
Groups are timetabled so a primary child and a secondary child overlap at the same address. No second car journey at half past five.
Never a lecture hall. Reading groups are capped at four or five, maths at three or four, so a tutor sits down next to your child at least twice an hour.
The homework hour is part of every primary place. Most weeks the folder comes home finished, and the evening at your kitchen table is yours again.
The order follows the class year you picked. Both doors stay open.

Class 5–13
Maths in threes and fours, from the first term of class 5 to the Abitur paper. Then a quiet room until seven for whatever else is due tomorrow.
Look insideThe order below is the order for the class year you picked.

14:20
Straight from the Grundschule with the after-school group or on foot. Coats on the hooks by the window, bag stays in the lobby.
14:25
Five minutes at the low table. Nobody starts a reading group hungry.
14:30
Sixty minutes at a table of four or five with the same tutor as last week.
16:00
Two adults, one quiet room, the folder open. Whatever is finished here does not come home.
16:50
Usually straight off the bus at the corner. The lobby is theirs for ten minutes before the group starts.
17:00
Seventy-five minutes in a group of three or four, working from their own exercise book.
18:15
Optional, included, and the reason a lot of teenagers stay: forty-five minutes where nobody at home asks them anything.
19:00
Doors close at seven. One trip, two children, and the tutor is at the door if you want thirty seconds about the week.
Sorted for your pick. Everything else stays reachable underneath.
Sounds, syllables and reading aloud to an adult who does not finish the word for them. Ends with ten minutes of a book the child chose.
Written arithmetic, times tables and the word problems that hide the sum inside a sentence. Blocks stay on the table for as long as they are useful.
The combined afternoon group: half the hour on reading, half on numbers. This is the group most primary children are enrolled in.
Sixty quiet minutes with two adults in the room. Included with every primary place — the folder is checked before it goes back in the bag.
Fractions, negative numbers and the first proper equations — the term where a lot of children quietly stop understanding and do not say so.
Functions, geometry and the algebra that the leaving exam is built on. Past papers from March onwards.
Analysis, vectors and stochastics in a group of three, working from the student's own course material and the state exam papers.
A silent room with an adult in it, for the work that is due tomorrow. Included with every secondary place, on any afternoon.
Live group times. Filtered to the year you picked so you can see whether the two kids actually overlap.

Times are the same every week during Nordrhein-Westfalen term time.
Primary groups run from 14:30 to 17:00, secondary from 17:00 to 19:00, and the homework hour and the quiet study room bridge the gap. A class 3 child and a class 9 child can be at the same address from 15:45 until 19:00 with one drop-off and one pick-up.
Any two children from one household, in any combination of groups, come to €139 a month together instead of paying twice. A third child from the same household joins for half of the lower rate.

A plain page you log into. It reports what happened at the centre — it is not a way to watch your child.
Which sessions your child came to and which were missed, as dates. Nothing about why.
One line written by the tutor after the session: "fractions, adding unlike denominators". It describes the afternoon, not your child.
Reading book, ruler, the worksheet from Thursday. The list a seven-year-old will not remember at eight in the morning.
Time and room, and a note if a tutor is away and who is covering.
This month's fee, what it covers, whether the direct debit went through.
You write to the tutor, the tutor writes back, usually the next afternoon. It is not instant messaging and nobody is on call at ten at night.
Class tests you have entered yourself, so the group can practise the right thing beforehand. We do not see the results unless you tell us.

Published with a first name and a class year only, and only where a parent agreed.
“I read a whole page to my mum and she didn't help me once.”
“The blocks are for babies but they did make me get it, so.”
“Fractions were the thing I said I was bad at. Turns out I was bad at the one week I was off sick.”
“It's three of us and nobody's being clever at each other, so I actually ask.”
“We do the real exam papers, not nice versions of them. That was a shock and then it was useful.”
“Both of mine are in the same building for three hours. I get one text when they arrive and I drive once. I cannot explain what that has done for our evenings.”
Learners are quoted with a first name and class year only, with their parent's written consent and their own agreement. We never publish photographs of the children who learn here.
A two-hour evening for parents, six times a year, in the room with the good chairs. What to do when a Tuesday-evening worksheet turns into a fight — and, more usefully, what to stop doing.

Walk in during opening hours, no appointment. The lobby has coffee and the door to the group room stays open.

Saturday mornings are for parent appointments, not groups.
Closed during the North Rhine-Westphalia school holidays, except the Abitur revision week.
