How we teach it

  • Start at the last thing that worked

A first session finds the year the ground gave way — often three years before the current topic — and rebuilds from there rather than re-explaining Thursday's lesson louder.

  • Their own exercise book, not ours

We work from the school's material and the actual teacher's actual worksheet. Nobody needs a second syllabus running in parallel.

  • Three or four at a table

Small enough that nobody hides at the back, big enough that a teenager is not sitting alone opposite an adult for seventy-five minutes.

  • No promises about grades

We will not tell you a number your child will get. We will tell you what we practise, how often, and what changed in the exercise book.

Where the two afternoons meet

Primary groups run from 14:30 to 17:00, secondary from 17:00 to 19:00, and the homework hour and the quiet study room bridge the gap. A class 3 child and a class 9 child can be at the same address from 15:45 until 19:00 with one drop-off and one pick-up.

What it costs

€89 a month for one maths group a week plus the quiet study room on any other afternoon. One month's notice to the end of the month.

“Fractions were the thing I said I was bad at. Turns out I was bad at the one week I was off sick.”

  • Learner

“It's three of us and nobody's being clever at each other, so I actually ask.”

    Mattis

    Class 9

  • Learner

“We do the real exam papers, not nice versions of them. That was a shock and then it was useful.”

    Sophie

    Q1

  • Parent

“Both of mine are in the same building for three hours. I get one text when they arrive and I drive once. I cannot explain what that has done for our evenings.”

Questions parents ask

Can we try it first?

Yes. The first afternoon is free and you do not have to decide anything at the end of it. Come, sit in the lobby, and take your child home with an opinion.

Do both children have to do the same subject?

No. The sibling bundle is two children from one household in any combination — reading for one, Abitur maths for the other is the most common pairing we have.

Will my child's grade improve?

We will not promise you a grade, and you should be careful with anyone who does. What we can tell you is the group size, how often a tutor sits with your child, what is practised each week and what changed in the exercise book.

My child is in class 2 and still cannot read properly. Is that too late?

No, and it is the most common reason a family calls us. Class 2 is early. We start below the point where it stopped working and read aloud every single session.

Homework ends in tears at our house. Does that stop?

Often, because most of it is done here with two adults in the room instead of at your kitchen table at seven. The parent workshop is the other half of the answer.

Do you prepare for the Abitur paper specifically?

Yes, from the state's released papers, in a group of three. From March the Q2 group works almost entirely on past papers under exam timing.

What happens if a session is missed?

Tell us and your child can sit in the same group on another day that week if there is a chair free. Missed sessions are not refunded, but they are not wasted either.

How do we stop?

One month's notice to the end of any month, by email or on paper, and you do not owe us a reason. No minimum term, no automatic year-long renewal.
